Kensington’s Summer Sunshine Playlist By Julia McCarren, Kensington Board-Certified Music Therapist

Summertime has arrived at The Kensington, bringing with it the perfect opportunity to enjoy music and create meaningful connections with your loved ones. This season, we invite you to use our specially curated playlist to craft moments of joy with your family. Whether you’re outside basking in the sunshine, enjoying the summer breeze in a walk down the park, or listening to music near a sunny window, let the tunes fill your space. Engage in daily movement by clapping your hands, tapping your feed, or dancing to the rhythm of the music. You can also enhance your experience by attending one of our live outdoor concerts.

As you listen to each song, take a trip down memory lane. Look through family photos from past summers and vacations, sparking conversations and reminiscences. Savor a favorite summer treat like a healthy smoothie or a refreshing mocktail. While outdoors, engage all of your senses by discussing the sights, sounds, and feelings of nature surrounding you in the summertime.

Here is what Kensington has on our Summer Playlist for You & Your Loved One:

  1. It’s a Lovely Day Today” by Ella Fitzgerald
  2. Oh What A Beautiful Morning” by Frank Sinatra
  3. On A Bicycle Built For Two” by Nat King Cole
  4. Kokomo” by The Beach Boys
  5. Under the Boardwalk” by the Drifters
  6. Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles
  7. Walking On Sunshine” by Katrina & The Waves
  8. Surfin’ U.S.A.” by the Beach Boys
  9. This Land is Your Land” by Peter, Paul, and Mary
  10. Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” by Stevie Wonder

Make the most of this season at The Kensington, where every note of music can turn into a cherished memory.
