Exceptional Assisted Living

“There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.” – Mandy Hale

Assisted Living at The Kensington Sierra Madre

Welcome to The Kensington Sierra Madre, an enhanced assisted living and memory care community located in Sierra Madre, California.

Our team is committed to enriching the lives of our residents and their families, including caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

At The Kensington Sierra Madre, we encourage independence and confidence and focus on making each individual feel important. The Kensington Family not only takes care of families but is also built on family.

Why choose assisted living with The Kensington Sierra Madre?

The Kensington Sierra Madre has a passion for excellence in providing healthcare that goes beyond what other traditional assisted living communities can offer.

Our community is located in the heart of Sierra Madre, a town known for having several charming cafes and shops easily accessible within a short walk. In addition to providing world-class healthcare, we also excel at finding ways to help our residents feel comfortable, secure, happy, and dignified. We offer a busy event calendar and life enrichment programs that create lasting friendships, promote engagement, and preserve wellness.

Residents can enjoy wine with lunch and dinner with their friends and family in our elegant main dining room. Our meals are prepared by our professionally trained chef and can be modified to meet the special dietary needs of our residents.

At The Kensington, we like having our residents around, so we’ve made space in our family for them and theirs – in our hearts and at our table.

With complimentary meals for friends and families at all times, we invite you to slow down, strengthen bonds and make memories at The Kensington. Daily happy hour and frequent entertainment make our dining room a fun and exciting place to be!

The Kensington believes in family and is committed to keeping them intact, even if lifestyle and care requirements differ. We welcome couples to make our home their home- together!

Pets are also welcome at The Kensington and become part of our family. We recognize their importance as more than companions, but also as important contributors to the emotional health of our residents.

“They have the most caring, loving, friendly staff I’ve ever met at an assisted living home. They write “we love you” notes and always pop in to make dad feel included. The place is like walking into a 5 star hotel. We are so happy dad made the move.”
-Sue R., Daughter of Resident

The Benefits of Assisted Living – For Loved Ones and Their Families

Assisted living communities actually allow residents to live more independent lives than if they were living at home alone. Rather than staying at home isolated, or depending on their caregivers or others to help, residents can live in a socially rich atmosphere with all their amenities and healthcare services provided on-site, which fosters independence.

A few of the benefits and amenities offered at The Kensington Sierra Madre include:

  • Primary Care Manager Program
  • Licensed nurses on-site 24 hours a day, everyday
  • On-site Physical Therapy and Fitness Center
  • Medication Administration handled by Licensed Nurses and Medication Technicians
  • Life Enrichment activities are available 7 days a week, from morning until evening
  • All day Dining with table linens, china, and crystal with nutritious and tasty menu selections such as prime rib, grilled salmon, fresh vegetables, and much more
  • Accommodations to a wide variety of special diets including low sodium, low sugar, heart healthy, and more wide variety of Suite Plans with options for private or companion living

On-Site Rehabilitation Services

Together we provide the most current, full-service Assisted Living and Memory Care solutions to physical, occupational, and speech therapies.

The Benefits of Aging in Place in Assisted Living

The Kensington Sierra Madre is committed to providing outstanding care every day to our residents with a full spectrum of clinical support and social engagement. We can accommodate all of our residents’ changing health care needs to allow them to “age in place.”

Aging in place means our residents will never be required to move out of assisted living if their health care needs change or increase.

Our Enhanced Assisted Living Residence (EALR) license enables us to provide a higher continuum of healthcare, providing medical services that many traditional assisted living communities don’t offer, including:

  • Medication administration
  • Diabetes injections
  • 24-hour emergency care
  • Personal care such as dressing, bathing, and toilet assistance

We gladly welcome all residents into our community regardless of their condition, including those who are wheelchair-bound, require a higher acuity of care, have specialized dietary needs, or require other specialized care.

If you have questions about the care our team at The Kensington Redondo Beach can provide, please don’t wait to get in touch with us.

Two Distinct Memory Care Neighborhoods

In honoring Our Promise to allow our residents to “age in place,” we have two distinct memory care communities to help residents in all stages of memory loss.

Connections is for residents who are in the early to middle stages of memory loss caused by Alzheimer’s or dementia. In Connections, we help residents live as independently as possible in a home-like space that fosters a sense of familiarity. Our Connections neighborhood has a terrace and garden areas to allow residents to freely enjoy fresh air and sunshine. We also offer wander management technology to manage our residents’ whereabouts while they move around freely.

Haven is for residents in the middle to late stages of memory loss. Haven residents receive a higher level of assistance and care, including help maintaining appearance and keeping good hygiene, including nurses who can help manage incontinence.

Haven is also a fully-secured environment that includes an adaptive design including painted walls and doors, motion sensors, and specially designed carpet and memory boxes to help residents with recognition and to minimize confusion.

Both neighborhoods include our trained staff who work hard to meet our residents where they are, always being aware that memory loss affects everyone differently.
