Kensington Sierra Madre Assisted Living Supervisor Leandra Sims headshotSeries Talk:  Join us for an interactive presentation to increase your knowledge about dementia and develop skills
to connect with your loved one.  Understanding Different Dementias.

There’s no question that memory loss is a family affair. Those living with it as well as those who love and care for them confront the continual need to adjust the way they relate and communicate. Finding ways to make this challenge more manageable is essential to improve the quality of life for all involved. “Understanding Different Dementias” is an opportunity for dementia caregivers and families to learn what happens when the brain changes
and how to respond in ways that are kind, compassionate and thoughtful. The presentation is an interactive experience and includes a Q&A.

The speaker/facilitator is Leandra Sims. She is a certified Positive Approach® to Care (PAC) Trainer, which enables her to teach the dementia care philosophy and caregiving techniques of Teepa Snow, a sought-after advocate of people living with dementia. Leandra is currently the Director of Memory Care at The Kensington. She brings knowledge, laughter and love to residents, their caregivers and families.
