As we age, so do our lungs. Join us at The Kensington Sierra Madre for an informative session that will help you gain a better understanding of respiratory diseases as we grow older. Respiratory diseases can include Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), emphysema, bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, lung cancer, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and more.
With time, we become more vulnerable to respiratory diseases due to weakened immune systems, natural changes, and bone and muscle weakness affecting breathing mechanics. Pulmonologist Dr. Michael J. Gurevitch, MD will share his expert medical insight about understanding the lungs and respiratory diseases with the passage of time and any advances in treatments.

Dr. Michael Gurevitch has been a pulmonary and critical care physician in the community for more than 30 years.
After completing his residency at Huntington Hospital and speciality training at USC, he worked his way up to being the director of the medical ICU and Respiratory Therapy Dept at Huntington Hospital.
As a semi retirement project, he took on being the medical director at Kensington where he oversees the care of several residents and has been an advisor to our facility regarding medical care and treatment issues.
As pulmonary issues become a common problem for so many of us as we age, he will present an overview of lung and immune function and help to explain why the lungs are a common susceptibility as we age and what we might be able to do to help maintain lung health and prevent lung complications
